FUNNYFIXX NOTE: When I worked in LA, the Coffee Bean on Beverly Drive was my daily afternoon outting. There was always at least a dozen writers with laptops buzzing at their usual tables, writing their next $5 million spec scripts. Coffee Bean and Starbucks were the official rent-free offices of every writer in town.
Free-range screenwriters living on Ramen noodles and lattes looking for a break. You could write a little and chat with strangers you hoped would turn out to work for Jerry Bruckheimer or Ron Howard or be a William Morris Agent. You could take meetings with indie producers, who also used the ubiquitous coffee havens as headquarters, and lie to each other about making movies together. So when I found this musicial this morning, I had to share it with you. This is really what it’s like to live in Hollywood. Everyday you dream until one day you become famous. Or not.
