Pants on the Ground with General Larry Platt and William Hung on last night’s Season 9 American Idol finale. Yes, Lee DeWyze won. Congrats! And Crystal Bowersox will go on to recording success like Daughtry. But the tune that still haunts us is: Pants on the Ground!
Larry Platt wows American Idol judges with his Pants On The Ground song. Larry’s 62, a little too old to be American Idol’s cookie cutter star, but Larry’s got “it!” Lookin’ like a fool with yo’ pants on the ground.
One of the funny auditions from the premiere of Season 9 American Idol was ironic. Andrew Fenlon wasn’t a bad vocalist, but it was his attitude that didn’t earn him the golden ticket to Hollywood. Bad energy creates bad energy. Andrew was angry about waiting a couple of hours to audition. The whole entertainment business is about waiting. Andrew, dude, take your meds and chill.

Not all of them can actually sing. But they can all dream.

FUNNYFIXX NOTE: A tribute to the thousands who got up off the sofa and waited in lines through sleet, snow and heatwaves for their chance at the golden ticket to Hollywood. (I posted this originally in December 2008, but thought it should have a new life since tonight the newest American Idol will be announced! I shot the tape during the American Idol auditions in Jacksonville, FL June 2008.)
