Time: 1:54
Chinese reenactment of Conan vs. Jay, The Late Night Wars turns comedians into superheroes and a certain NBC executive into a brilliant villain. It sounded like a good idea at the time. But when Jay Leno was moved to 10:00 p.m. and Conan realized his lifelong dream of hosting The Tonight Show at 11:30 p.m., ratings for both shows went into freefall.
When the brilliant bad guy (Jeff Zucker, played by himself in this video) tries to move Leno back to 11:30 p.m. and push Conan to follow, Conan goes Hulk on his butt. Inspired by Conan’s transformation, Jay Leno morphs into pudgy SuperLeno. Not to be upstaged, the baddy turns into Captain NBC and the battle is on. Other late night stars appear out of nowhere and join in: David Letterman, Jimmy Fallon or is it Jimmy Kimmel? Seven fans flash mob in the streets to cheer on their hero while a guy sells popcorn and beer. Huh? Suddenly, the battling celebs shed their superhero identities for suits and make a deal. Everyone lives happily ever after. Yeah, right.
Post-apocalyptic sequel coming soon.
