FUNNYFIXX NOTE: This gorgeous short film is in competition at The Doorpost Film Project (I’m one of the judges for 2009). Even though it’s not really a comedy, I wanted to share it with our FunnyFixx fans because it’s so quirky and delightful. Enjoy.
According to their YouTube channel: At first glance, the comedy duo Red State Update may look like a Blue Collar Comedy Tour ripoff, but they’re the darlings of progressive online magazine Salon.com and on the buddy list of “those liberal nonproliferationists” CNN.
In this episode Dunlap’s not feeling to well after his trip to Talladega, but still manages to give Jackie some helpful tips on avoiding swine flu. Music by William Sherry Jr. Let Your Jackie Flag Fly!
FUNNYFIXX NOTE: I think these guys need Thurapy and should move to Panther County.
A digital Mother’s Day card. Tucker and Brad show their love for mom by taking a Mother’s Day photo.
Luke Barats and Joe Bereta began collaborating in 2003 at Gonzaga University where they were active in the theater department, broadcasting department, and led the school’s improv comedy troupe. Later that year they began making short videos to amuse their friends which were eventually compiled on a website.
In 2005 Barats and Bereta won the Brickwall Amateur Comedy Competition with their two-man stand up routine. That same year they won the Spokane First Night Film Festival and received some sweet plaques to prove it. Since then their short, punchy videos have made their way around the Internet and have been seen by a goodly number of people.
Barats and Bereta are currently employed at Cornerbooth Film & Video Production and perform improv with ComedySportz in Spokane, Washington.
FUNNYFIXX NOTE: This video has over 7 million views on YouTube and proves comedy can be simple and hysterical if it focuses on a subject we can all relate to: sibling rivalry.
In this short film by Federico Verardi an uninspired painter almost kills his muse as he is desperately trying to meet his show’s deadline.
FUNNYFIXX NOTE: This is another jewel of a short film I found while judging the Doorpost Film Project competition last month. The filmmaker’s theme was forgiveness and he wanted to show that the journey to forgiveness can help enable you to see the good and bad in yourself.
Okay, I confess. I don’t post videos on FunnyFixx.com that are bootlegged or ripped from copyrighted material. Maybe because I want the best quality video from the original creator or source. Or maybe it’s because I’m stupid.
So when I went to the Unwigged & Unplugged concert last night in Jacksonville, FL, I saw other people grabbing video of the performance on their cells and thought…that’s going to look like crap if they upload it. Then I remembered I had a Flip Mino HD in my pocket…so, one thing led to another and well, now I’m the bootlegger. The ripper of video, the unofficial and unauthorized grabber of copyrighted performance by the rich and famous.
Presented here for your hilariment are: Christopher Guest, Michael McKean and Harry Shearer performing Stonehenge from This Is Spinal Tap.
FUNNYFIXX NOTE: The Unwigged and Unplugged Tour hits Jacksonville, FL tonight and I’ll be there, along with all the other Spinal Tap fanatics in Northeast Florida. To get in the mood for Christopher Guest, Michael McKean and Harry Shearer’s unwigged and unplugged performance, I found a cool clip from The Daily Show with Jon Stewart from September 7, 2000 when the trio was promoting the release of the DVD, This Is Spinal Tap.
Yuri has lost the keys to his fathers car, he affectionatly calls ‘Natasha’ and only has 20 minutes to get the car to the motorshow, where it’s the star attraction. He now must enlist the help of strangers to help him on his journey. It’s a small comedic film about the joy of people coming together to help a fellow man in need.
This is a short film by Aaron McCann of Perth, Western Australia which is competing in The Door Post short film competition.
FUNNYFIXX NOTE: Making a short film looks easy. It’s not. There are so many elements that must go right, starting with the script. This is a cool story and a great example of the audience rooting for the protagonist to achieve his goal. Oh, yeah, and this little film has a big surprise ending!
