The magical comedy stars Jason Flemyng, who played Benjamin Button’s father in the Oscar-winning film The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Other cast members include: Kirsty Mitchell, Maureen Lipman, Frank Finlay, John Sessions and Kulvinder Ghir.

FUNNYFIXX NOTE: Is this story about reincarnation? Who knows…but the animation is very cool. I love the cars, Raymond’s version of a Cobra and Cadillac, I think. His story choice to cut away from the head-on crash and show the smoke from the collision from a distance was a great idea. It keeps it from being too violent. Love the ending with all the characters hanging out as angels with wings.

FUNNYFIXX NOTE: There’s something deliciously appealing about transformational power. We all love superheroes and our world could certainly use a troop of superheroes to blast us out of this frightening economic crisis. A superhero in the Whitehouse would be a good start. (Sorry about the commercial at the beginning of the video. It streams in with the automatically.)

Jake Blues, just out of prison, puts together his old band to save the Catholic home where he and brother Elwood were raised. In this scene the Blues Brothers visit an old friend at his fancy restaurant to convince him to join the band otherwise they’ll show up for breakfast, lunch and dinner every day. And nobody wants that.

FUNNYFIXX NOTE: The Blues Brothers film has some of the funniest scenes you can find in comedies and that makes it a Five-HaHa film on my HaHa Scale (5 is highest). When Blues Brothers director John Landis visited our town during the Jacksonville Film Festival in 2004 I was assistant director of the fest and this pic was taken at one of the parties.

FUNNYFIXX NOTE: At first I thought…ah…this is a real AmEx commercial when I found it on Funny Or Die (FOD as it’s known to Hollywood outsiders). But they don’t allow real commercials on FOD. Then I got it: this is an excellent example of art imitating life…or is it life imitating art? The truth is out there.

FUNNYFIXX NOTE: I think Owen is on to something. Going back to the old ways is where we’re headed anyway, right. Owen’s backward thinking is about as green as it gets.

FUNNYFIXX NOTE: If you show up at THE OFFICE on NBC as I do every Thursday night for 30 minutes of hysterical office politics, you know this scene by heart. I love how Dwight and Michael are suckered into “believing” the sales call with Jim…even though they are sitting at the same table with him and it’s supposed to be a role playing exercise.
