STEPHEN’S ANGRY MOB WILL CRUSH AIG

Warning: One cuss word.

The government can’t stop AIG but Stephen Colbert’s mob can. Posted March 16, 2009 on Stephen Colbert’s Comedy Central website Colbert Nation.

FUNNYFIXX NOTE: People are losing their jobs and houses and AIG executives are getting million dollar bonuses? Something’s very wrong with this picture. The country is outraged and in this video Stephen Colbert voices our anger with his comedic pitchfork mob proposal. Anybody got a rusty pitchfork in the shed I can borrow?

FLY ON THE WHEEL

FUNNY ANIMATION No Comments »

Time: 1:30

This funny animation was animated and directed by Raymond Wong of Malaysia

FUNNYFIXX NOTE: Is this story about reincarnation? Who knows…but the animation is very cool. I love the cars, Raymond’s version of a Cobra and Cadillac, I think. His story choice to cut away from the head-on crash and show the smoke from the collision from a distance was a great idea. It keeps it from being too violent. Love the ending with all the characters hanging out as angels with wings.

SNL – The Rock Obama

FUNNY TV CLIPS 1 Comment »

Time: 5:18

Don’t get the President angry. This Saturday Night Live skit aired March 7, 2009 on NBC and stars Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and the SNL cast.

FUNNYFIXX NOTE: There’s something deliciously appealing about transformational power. We all love superheroes and our world could certainly use a troop of superheroes to blast us out of this frightening economic crisis. A superhero in the Whitehouse would be a good start. (Sorry about the commercial at the beginning of the video. It streams in with the automatically.)

THE BLUES BROTHERS – Fine Dining

COMEDY FILM CLIPS No Comments »

Time: 2:13

Jake Blues, just out of prison, puts together his old band to save the Catholic home where he and brother Elwood were raised. In this scene the Blues Brothers visit an old friend at his fancy restaurant to convince him to join the band otherwise they’ll show up for breakfast, lunch and dinner every day. And nobody wants that.

Credits: Written and directed by John Landis, also written by Dan Aykroyd. Starring John Belushi as Jake and Dan Aykroyd as Elwood.

FUNNYFIXX NOTE: The Blues Brothers film has some of the funniest scenes you can find in comedies and that makes it a Five-HaHa film on my HaHa Scale (5 is highest). When Blues Brothers director John Landis visited our town during the Jacksonville Film Festival in 2004 I was assistant director of the fest and this pic was taken at one of the parties.

AMERICAN EXPRESS SPECIAL OFFER

FUNNY OR DIE VIDEOS - Will Ferrell & Friends No Comments »

Time: 2:06

American Express wants to give you $300 to join their one-time-only, special, extraordinarly exclusive American Express Quitters Club. But wait there’s more…

Starring Jim McCauley and Jacqui Malouf. Written and directed by Drew Antzis.

FUNNYFIXX NOTE: At first I thought…ah…this is a real AmEx commercial when I found it on Funny Or Die (FOD as it’s known to Hollywood outsiders). But they don’t allow real commercials on FOD. Then I got it: this is an excellent example of art imitating life…or is it life imitating art? The truth is out there.

MAYOR OF PANTHER COUNTY #2 Dirty Politics

MAYOR OF PANTHER COUNTY No Comments »

Time: 2:11

Owen Bowen tries to make a mud-slinging campaign commercial for his bid as Mayor of Panther County, but his wife’s doing the mud-slinging. Owen may want to run the county, but it’s clear who’s running Owen.

Web series stars Wesley Nielsen as Roy Ray, Laura Morey as Dottie, Amanda Ayres as Regina, Armando Versace as Bernie, Tom Riska as Gene and introducing Kenny Logsdon as Owen Bowen. Music Composed and Performed by Shawn K. Clement. Webisodes written and produced by Sharon Y. Cobb. Executive Producer, Richard E. Lyons.

FUNNYFIXX NOTE: I think Owen is on to something. Going back to the old ways is where we’re headed anyway, right. Owen’s backward thinking is about as green as it gets.

THE OFFICE – Role Playing

FUNNY TV CLIPS No Comments »

Time: 2:28

After conflict in the office, Michael insists that Jim and Dwight participate in some role playing to “fix” them.

Credits: Steve Carell as Michael, John Krasinski as Jim and Rainn Wilson as Dwight.

FUNNYFIXX NOTE: If you show up at THE OFFICE on NBC as I do every Thursday night for 30 minutes of hysterical office politics, you know this scene by heart. I love how Dwight and Michael are suckered into “believing” the sales call with Jim…even though they are sitting at the same table with him and it’s supposed to be a role playing exercise.
